Introducing The Land of Israel Birkon: A compilation of photographs, brachot, and zmirot that, together, endeavor to convey the complex spirituality of the Jewish people in our Land. Each image was created in that passionate dance of the photographer and subject that is the jo y of the work I do every day. In photography, capturing the moment of golden light, the movement of water, the gentle touch of a hand, the unique curve of a face, the intense color of new spring growth or the blaze of autumn’s changes–are an attempt to live a slice of the Divine, and to preserve it forever. So with this birkon. I am grateful for the opportunity to present an odyssey of finding those Divinely-gifted moments. Each page is a chronicle of that odyssey and my hope is that everyone who opens the birkon will travel with me into the heart of our land, our people, and our connection with the One who created it all.
